Noah Waisberg

Meet our host!
Zuva uses AI to help businesses understand the details of their documents. Previously, Noah co-founded and served as CEO of Kira Systems for 10+ years to its exit, helping grow the company to over two hundred employees, and having 18 of the top 25 M&A law firms as well as all of the Big Four as customers. Prior to Kira Systems, Noah was a corporate lawyer at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York.
Noah is an expert on contract analysis, legal technology, and artificial intelligence; has spoken at conferences including SXSW Interactive, ILTACON, and Legal Geek; and has been named the FT’s Intelligent Business Market Shaper and ILTA’s Innovative Thought Leader of the Year. Noah holds a J.D. from the NYU School of Law, an A.M. from Brown University, and a B.A. with honours from McGill University. He is the co-author of The Wall Street Journal bestseller AI for Lawyers, and Robbie the Robot Learns to Read, the world’s first children’s book on machine learning.

Devon McGuire

Devon spent 5 years as a Data Extraction Analyst where she trained over 60 Quick Study models based on unique customer requirements across various industries. She comes with practical real-life examples of how to approach these types of engagements to deliver success.

Shea Smock
Practice Innovations Analyst at Chapman and Cutler LLP
Shea Smock is a practice innovations analyst on Chapman and Cutler's Practice Innovations team. She is responsible for managing legal technology and process improvement projects including collaboration, workflow, and artificial intelligence systems.
Shea currently manages dozens of machine learning projects on multiple platforms containing hundreds of custom trained models specific to Chapman’s review requirements. Prior to Chapman, Shea completed a J.D. at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Communication Research & Theory from Florida State University.

Sapheen Meran
Legal Technology & Innovation Manager at Macfarlanes
Sapheen is a senior member of the Macfarlanes Lawtech team. He is responsible for developing technology-enabled solutions for legal clients, and for the implementation of technology across transactional and advisory legal practice.
He has used machine learning models across a number of legal practice contexts, with a specific focus on derivatives, transactional finance, asset management, and how AI can be used to construct usable data for process-driven legal analysis.
